UNESCO World Heritage site: Castelgrande Bellinzona, Ticino (CH)

Castelgrande (Grand Castle) Bellinzona is only a 30 minute drive away, but somehow we never went. I was under the impression it would make for a nice indoor activity, it being a castle and all: roaming the rooms and halls, seeing what castle live used to be like. Boy was I wrong! It was the total opposite: outdoor and no rooms and halls to visit, but it made for a truly wonderful afternoon nevertheless! Boating The Day Away – Lugano (CH)

One thing I love about Switzerland are the mountains, but hiking those mountains with small kids might not be so ideal as you will most likely have to carry your sprout up that mountain you’re planning to hike. You probably wish there would be a better solution allowing the whole family to view the mountains in a fun and relaxing way. Well, what if instead of going up a mountain, you take a few steps away from it so you can see it in all its glory: Why not step on to the water! Continue reading “Boating The Day Away – Lugano (CH)”

Organic Farm – Braggio, Graubünden (CH)

The thermometer reached 25 degrees for the first time this year last Tuesday and instead of spending the time playing at the local park, we decided to re-visit a tiny village we discovered two years ago when friends took us on a family friendly walk in the area: Braggio. This small village (57 permanent inhabitants) can basically only be reached by a little cable car, that you have to operate yourself! Continue reading “Organic Farm – Braggio, Graubünden (CH)”
